Hasbros FunLab Seeks Prototype Toy Testers

Your child could inspire the next great Hasbro product.

Hasbros FunLab might be a good diversion to add to your family’s schedule if you have children or are visiting Pawtucket. FunLab is located at Hasbros Corporate Headquarters, and is described as Hasbros Toy and Gaming Testing Program. Its open to families with children of any age, and it just might be the most awesome focus group in the world.

FunLab is basically where children are paired with Hasbros experts to try out new toys and games. Non-disclosure agreements are signed by parents and children are given toys to play with and test out. The sessions are structured, but Hasbro is trying to discover if toys are fun to play with and what play patterns may emerge from them. The toys being used are prototypes that are being developed for production in between 1 and 3 years, if ever produced.

The official description of Hasbro’s FunLab is:

Global FunLabs at Hasbro bring together consumers from all over the globe and Hasbro teams for hands-on experiences that allow us to identify growth opportunities and develop new products. FunLab’s goal is to provide Hasbro with engaging, entertaining and enjoyable products and experiences for children and their families. Participant insights help us to inspire and educate our teams as we develop marketing strategies, product designs, and entertainment experiences.

And if having your kids invited to play with new concepts from toy lines like Transformers, My Little Pony, Monopoly, Play-Doh, Nerf, G.I. Joe, etc., isnt cool enough, as an added bonus, the child will also receive a special gift at the end as a thank you from Hasbro for having participated in the roughly 45 minute session. The only problem with the program is its specificity to families with children. Sorry, adult Nerfers. This one is for the children.

If youre interested in participating with your family, you must enroll ahead of time to participate: [email protected]. The sessions are held at their corporate office in Rhode Island, and are an awesome way to have fun with your family while contributing to the future of Hasbro toy development!
